Mateen Project
Phase One : Permitting
Starting in July of 2022, Black Hills Lithium L.L.C. began Phase One of the Mateen Project by applying for for prospecting permits and filing intent to locate notices with the Bureau of Land Management on 760 acres located to the south-southwest of the town of Hill City, SD centered on the historic Mateen Mine.
Phase Two: Reconnaissance Exploration
With prospecting permits secured and notices filed by August 2022, Black Hills Lithium L.L.C. has started Phase Two of the Mateen Project by advancing basic prospecting and mapping activities in the area.
Thus far, over 100 pounds of Black Hills Lithium’s target mineral, spodumene, have been collected for future lithium content testing to determine the initial feasibility of continuing exploration.
